A store is rarely the only system in the business. There is a CRM, an accounting package, a fulfilment provider, a marketing tool, and each one wants a slightly different shape of the same order. Most integration pain is not the connection itself, it is what happens on the day a sync fails quietly. These are the integrations we have written up, and the failure modes worth designing for.
