WordPress maintenance

Maintenance a person does.

Updates tested on staging before they reach production, backups you can actually restore from, and a named engineer who answers when something breaks.

What we take responsibility for

Ongoing and open-ended, quoted per site. If you want a fixed monthly scope with published prices, the care plans are the productised version of this.

Updates that cannot break the site

Core, plugin and theme updates run on a staging clone first. Anything that regresses is held and reviewed by a developer before it reaches production.

Backups you can restore from

Encrypted, off-site, four times daily, thirty-day retention. Integrity verified weekly, because an unverified backup is a hope, not a backup.

Security handled, not sold back to you

Continuous scanning. If the site is compromised we clean it at no extra charge. It is included in every tier rather than being the upsell.

Someone on call

Production-down reaches a senior engineer within one business hour during coverage, four hours overnight.

A written status every Friday

What we updated, what we caught, what we monitored, what is next. Prose in your inbox, not a dashboard you have to log into.

Community and store specialists

The engineers who maintain BuddyX Pro, the 26-plugin BuddyPress Community Bundle and the Reign theme.

How we take a site on

We look before we quote. A site that is already broken gets the repair priced separately, so you are not paying a monthly fee to inherit someone else's emergency.

1

We audit the site

Plugin inventory, update debt, backup state, known vulnerabilities, performance baseline. You get the findings whether or not you hire us.

2

We quote the tier

Which plan actually fits, and the separate cost of anything already broken. No monthly fee starts until the site is stable.

3

We take the pager

Monitoring goes live, the first staged update runs, and the Friday status email starts.

Maintenance, care plan, or neither

An honest comparison, including the case where you should not hire us.

Quoted per site $99 to $499 per month Your team's time
Open-ended, shaped to the site Fixed monthly scope Whatever gets attention
The site is unusual or large The site is typical You employ a WordPress engineer
Agreed per contract One business hour Whoever is free
Costs more than a plan for a simple site Too rigid for an unusual stack Context-switching is the real cost

Questions before you hand over a site

Do you take on sites that are already broken?
Yes, but we price the repair separately and fix it before the plan starts. Starting a monthly fee on a broken site means you pay us to inherit a problem, which is not a fair way to begin.
What access do you need?
Admin on a staging copy wherever possible. When live access is genuinely required we ask for a time-limited account carrying only the capabilities the job needs, and we tell you when to revoke it.
What if we want to leave?
You keep everything. No licence keys tied to us, no hosting you cannot leave, and documentation good enough for the next developer to pick up.
Is this the same as the care plan?
The care plan is this, productised: fixed monthly scope, published prices, four tiers. Quoted maintenance is for sites that do not fit a tier.
