Privacy policy

Last updated 27 September 2026. This policy describes what happens to information you give this website. It is written to describe what the site actually does rather than to cover every eventuality, and it is reviewed whenever the site starts collecting something new.

What we collect

When you submit the enquiry form we collect the fields you fill in: your name, your email address, optionally your site address, and your message. We also record the page you submitted from, and a one-way hash of your IP address used solely to rate-limit the form against automated abuse. We do not store your IP address itself.

Why we collect it

To answer your enquiry, and to quote for work if you ask us to. That is the only purpose. We do not sell it, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.

Where it goes

Submissions are stored in this site’s own database and emailed to us. If we have connected a mailing list or a webhook to the form, that is disclosed at the point of collection and requires your explicit opt-in.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while there is an active conversation and for a reasonable period after, so we can pick up where we left off if you come back. Ask us to delete yours and we will, without asking why.

Cookies and storage

This site sets no advertising cookies. It sets one first-party cookie, theme, which holds only “light” or “dark” so each page opens in the mode you picked; it is sent with your page requests but contains nothing about you. Your answer to the analytics banner is kept in your browser’s local storage so we do not ask again. Google Analytics runs only if you choose Accept, and then sets its own cookies to count visits; choose Reject, or send a Global Privacy Control signal, and it sets none. You can change your choice any time from “Cookie settings” in the footer.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask for a copy. Write to us and we will act on it. If you are in the UK, EU or EEA these are rights under the GDPR; we apply the same process to everyone regardless of where you are.
